Cream-First Potato Salad!

National BBQ Week is arriving later this month, and while the grill gets all the glory, we know the real secret to a legendary Devon feast lies in the side dishes! Forget the store-bought tubs; we have created an “udderly” delicious, decadent potato salad that brings a true taste of the West Country to your garden table.

While many use just mayo, we have elevated this classic using our world-famous Devonshire Clotted Cream. It adds a silky richness that pairs perfectly with smoky BBQ flavours. Remember, here in Devon, it is always cream first…and that applies to our cooking too!

Luxurious Clotted Cream & Chive Potato Salad
Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: 15 mins | Serves: 6

Ingredients:

1kg New Potatoes (locally grown in Devon if possible!)

113g tub of Langage Farm Devonshire Clotted Cream

3 tablespoons high-quality mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

A generous bunch of fresh chives, finely snipped

4 spring onions, finely sliced

Salt and cracked black pepper to taste

Method:

Prepare the Potatoes: Halve any larger new potatoes and boil in salted water for 12 to 15 minutes until tender. Drain and allow them to steam-dry for a few minutes.

Create the Devon Dressing: While the potatoes are cooling slightly, mix the Langage Farm Devonshire Clotted Cream, mayonnaise, and mustard in a large bowl until smooth. Our cream is made by hand using the freshest milk from our Jersey and Guernsey cows, giving it that golden, award-winning finish.

Combine: Toss the warm potatoes into the dressing. The warmth helps the clotted cream melt slightly, coating every potato in luxury.

Final Flourish: Fold in the spring onions and most of the chives. Season well with salt and pepper.

Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with the remaining chives. It’s the perfect partner for sizzling burgers or grilled halloumi.
