Audit successes!

Langage Farm celebrates a hat-trick of unannounced audit successes

A* grade for BRCGS Food Safety, plus passes for Red Tractor and SMETA 2-Pillar

Langage Farm has passed three unannounced audits in a row, confirming the standards the Plymouth dairy producer works to every day.

The family-run business achieved an A* grade in its latest unannounced BRCGS Food Safety audit. It also passed its Red Tractor dairy processor audit with no non-conformances raised, and passed its SMETA 2-Pillar social compliance audit with no major non-conformances.

Because all three audits were unannounced, auditors saw the farm and dairy as they are on a normal working day.

BRCGS is a globally recognised food safety certification, which many major retailers and food businesses require of their suppliers. The A* grade achieved by Langage Farm reflects the commitment of the whole team to food safety and quality.

Red Tractor is the UK’s largest food assurance scheme, and its logo shows that food has been produced to set standards for safety, traceability, animal welfare and the environment. As a certified Red Tractor dairy processor, Langage Farm’s pass gives customers continued confidence in what it makes.

SMETA 2-Pillar: Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit checks that a business treats its people fairly and safely. This audit looked at labour rights, health and safety, and responsible supply chain practices.

National Accounts & Marketing Manager Steve Davies said, “Food safety and quality are at the heart of everything we do. To pass three unannounced audits, including an A* from BRCGS, is a real credit to our team. Their hard work, collaboration and passion for getting things right show up every single day. We’re incredibly proud of them.”

“Langage Farm has had a summer of success,” added Steve. “These passes for the unannounced audits, along with the recent accolades for 7 from the Food Drink Devon Awards, have been fantastic. We received 7 awards this week from Food Drink Devon, including Platinum for our Devonshire Clotted Cream.

A great well done to the whole team!|
