Langage Farm Shortlisted for Food Drink Devon Awards 2022

The Food Drink Devon awards celebrate the very best Devon has to offer by recognising and championing the county’s most respected, passionate and high quality artisan food and drink producers. Judging for this year has now been completed with the shortlisted finalists announced. Year on year the judging panel have seen the standard increasing with every award being hotly contended, with this year, the eleventh, being no exception.

From the products tasted, Platinum awards will be given to any product receiving a perfect 100% score, Gold awards to products achieving 90-99%, and Silver to those scoring 80-89%. Then, from the producers on the shortlist, additional awards will be given to the Food Product and Drink Product of the Year.

Based in the heart of Devon, Langage Farm has been shortlisted in two very prestigious categories; Sustainability Pioneer Award and Producer Awards for the best Food and Drink Product of the Year.

“’We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards – it means so much to us all,” says National Account & Marketing Manager, Steve Davies. “We work hard to create artisan, luxury foods from our world-famous clotted cream to our luxury ice cream. We are particularly proud to be shortlisted for the Sustainability Pioneer Award,” added Steve. “The whole team here at Langage Farm work tirelessly to be as environmental as possible. We’re the UK’s first Carbon Neutral dairy farm and our Anaerobic Digester, located adjacent to the Dairy Production site, turns waste food from the area into energy for the farm. Over the years we’ve also reduced the amount of packaging we use, replaced plastic spoons with wooden ones, planted hedges and trees and ensure we recycle recycle recycle!”

“We use only the freshest and best, ingredients to make the most delicious ice cream, clotted cream, yogurts and sorbets. All our products are made by hand in our Devonshire creamery, by local people, with a passion for every flavour and every pot. We’re so proud of our products, our herd, our farm and our team who know everything there is to know about Channel Island milk, different flavours and how to ensure the Devon sun shines through in everything we make.”

Winners will be announced on Monday 3rd October at the Devon Food & Drink Awards Ceremony at Plymouth’s Crowne Plaza Hotel.
