Today, Thursday 6th July, they are making and delivering cream teas with include  delicious scones from Ryders Bakery Devon clotted cream from Langage Farm, luscious strawberry jam from Waterhouse Fayre and tea from Miles Tea and Coffee Merchants.

All their cream teas are now sold out and we wish them lots of success.

FORCE (Friends of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Centre, Exeter) became a charity in 1987 and has grown steadily ever since. In 2004 they opened a purpose-built Cancer Support and Information Centre, thanks to more than £900,000 raised by local people and the tireless work of the FORCE team. A £350,000 extension to the Centre was opened in 2012, allowing us to support even more people affected by cancer.

FORCE Cancer Charity provides free support and information to anyone affected by cancer at our centre in Exeter and at local community hospitals.

We offer counselling, group sessions, complementary therapies, benefits advice, specialist physiotherapy and exercise guidance and other health and wellbeing support. Our services are available to cancer patients and their families.

The FORCE Cancer Support and Information Centre is on the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital’s Wonford site. It’s open Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays, between 9:30am and 4:30pm.

When possible, they offer weekly support and information in Okehampton and Ottery St Mary.

They also fund local research and buy equipment to improve patient care and support specialist nurses who deliver chemotherapy in our outreach locations.

Force are an independent charity. The majority of their work is funded by local donations, fundraising, grants, legacies and our award winning shop.
