Langage Farm Supports Woodside Animal Welfare Trust’s Spring Fair Fundraiser

Langage Farm is proud to have been a part of the Woodside Animal Welfare Trust’s Spring Fair fundraiser, which raised an incredible £2953.80! It was a joy to support the event by providing Langage Farm clotted cream for their Devon Cream Teas.

The Woodside Animal Welfare Trust holds a special place in our hearts. This remarkable charity is based on the outskirts of Plymouth in Devon and was founded in 1974 by Carole Bowles. Her dedication to animal welfare was duly recognized when she was honored with an MBE by the Late Queen.

Woodside’s mission extends far and wide, encompassing animal rehoming, sanctuary care, and promoting responsible pet ownership. Their sanctuary provides a loving home not only to the young and healthy but also to beloved resident pets who are unlikely to be adopted, such as the elderly and long-term sick. From dogs and cats to rabbits, hamsters, and even hand-reared sheep, goats, and a pot-bellied pig, Woodside ensures that all animals in their care receive the attention and care they deserve.

One of Woodside’s key initiatives is promoting responsible pet ownership. Through their outreach programs, experienced Welfare Officers educate pet owners on understanding their pets’ needs and advocate for spaying and neutering schemes to prevent unwanted litters.

Woodside serves as a vital safety net for vulnerable animals, but running costs are high. Many pets require veterinary attention and may stay at the sanctuary for weeks as they recover. Despite the challenges, Woodside continues to provide a lifeline for animals in need,.

Well done everyone another great event at Woodside!
