Devon’s world-renowned dairy brand, Langage Farm, is celebrating a sweet new chapter in its global journey with the grand opening of The British Shop – a fabulous new Ice Cream Parlour in Tokyo – by Hobgoblin Japan.
The launch marks the brand’s exciting debut in the Japanese dairy space, flying the flag for Devon and Great British produce by selling Langage Farm’s delicious, award winning ice cream & clotted cream in the heart of Japan’s bustling capital.
The British Shop is the latest venture by Mark Spencer, British entrepreneur and founder of the highly successful Hobgoblin branded Pubs in Japan. Known for bringing a taste of British culture to Japan’s food and drink scene, Mark now brings Langage Farm’s luxuriously creamy ice cream to a new audience—uniting two beloved traditions: British pubs and Devonshire dairy. The British Ambassador to Japan was delighted to attend the official opening and cut the ribbon in time old tradition.
Langage Farm has long been a jewel of the West Country, proudly producing artisan ice cream, clotted cream, and yoghurts from its carbon-neutral farm near Plymouth. With a heritage dating back over 60 years, Langage Farm blends traditional know-how with sustainability, using milk from their own Channel Island herd to craft multi-award-winning dairy products that are now enjoyed around the world.
The British Shop promises to be a dynamic addition to Tokyo’s eclectic dessert scene, offering an indulgent British experience in every scoop. With signature flavours such as Devon Toffee, Clotted Cream Vanilla, and even the famous “99”, Tokyo locals and tourists alike are in for a taste of true Devon delight.
Steve Davies, National Accounts & Marketing Manager at Langage Farm, said:
“We are thrilled to see Langage Farm products land in Tokyo. This collaboration with Hobgoblin Japan is not only a celebration of great taste but a proud moment for Devon. We’ve built our reputation on exceptional quality and authenticity, and it’s fantastic to see those values resonate across the world.
