| In 1086 William the Conqueror, twenty
years after his victory at the Battle of Hastings, sent his officials
throughout England, gathering information for what was to become the
Domesday Book. One of the Farmsteads which would undoubtedly have
been visited was on the southern slopes of Dartmoor, set amid the
rich grass and rolling hills of South Devon that so many people know
and love.
Nine hundred years later, the same farmstead - Langage Farm - is
still a working farm, now with a large herd of Pedigree Jersey Cows
which have been carefully selected and built up over the years by
the farmers, the Harvey Family. Jersey Cows - the smaller brown
prettier ones - are world famed for the high butterfat content of
their milk and it is this which, by the same traditional methods
that have been used in Devon for years and years, is used to full
advantage to produce the traditional dairy products for which we
are renowned. By exclusively using the milk and cream all of our
products have a luxurious richness which is seldom found anywhere
in the world.
